Morgan starred in an informational clip Safe Sex for Men and Women on AIDS prevention and education. The proceeds from the film went to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She's a part of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has been the driving force behind numerous fundraising initiatives for the cause and she also testified before a special Congressional panel on AIDS education. She is a member of the Board of Governors of APLA as well as Amfar. The former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop has asked her on occasion to be his substitute during AIDS celebrations and she's been the host of an AIDS Awareness Special with anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell has interviewed her two times about AIDS in Nightline. Morgan was awarded an Emmy nomination for her special episode of Murphy Brown written for her by Diane English. In the spring she co-starred with Joan Rivers in ABC television's Your Money or Your Wife. She then started the summer with Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was directed by Von Zerneck/Sertner. It included Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. The next time she appeared, Harmony Gold produced Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady along with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also starred as the lead in a psychological thriller which was solely produced through the USA Network. It received the top rating recorded in network history.
